ART SHOW...Thursday OCT. 27th

The Philadelphia chapter of the American Institute of Architects has chosen 5 of my drawings to include in their annual exhibition; Art by Architects which will run from Sunday October 23rd til November 19th at 1216 Arch Street. Next Thursday October 27th from 5-7pm is the opening night. Thirty eight architects will have their work displayed in the main gallery. Should be pretty awesome. Hope to see you there next Thursday!

Greenline Cafe Show

A few days ago I mentioned my Mayor Nutter sketch was going to be a part of the bro luv art show at Greenline Cafe in West Philly. Well, the dude sent me some pictures today of the show. Makes me feel pretty legit considering the other work looks pretty good. Mine is that dinky one next to the hippo that you can barely see. Click on the image to enlarge.

This one isn't a solo show, but this coffee shop contacted me and wanted to display my mayor nutter sketch at their cafe as part of a philly focused art show. Pretty cool. If you are in West Philly and don't have anything to do... I say go here and tell me how it is. Greenline Cafe.

Art Show.

A few of my bad friends have been asking me about how the art show went. I only say bad friends because they didn't go. It went well. I mean there was that first 20 minutes when no one came through the door except my mom and my sister that I panicked, but that's like every party I've ever thrown. It was a pretty cool experience for me though, being my first solo show and all. After struggling mounting my frames on the brick wall by myself utilizing the few nails that were already in the walls, I managed. But I had a pretty good turnout of friends, friends of friends, and complete strangers. Unfortunately I didn't really take any pictures but here are some other people took (actually just one). I even made some money, so that's good.

ART SHOW!

Amateur architect, amateur artist... one of these days I will be a professional something. In the meantime, you should make a plan to come check out my art show at Yogawood in Collingswood (right at end of my street) as part of my town's Second Saturday festival on April 9th from 6pm-9pm. Every second Saturday of each month from the spring to the fall the shops and restaurants in Collingswood stay open a little later and have local artists and musicians display their work. It's pretty bumpin with people, and my shop is one of the best places to show work and it's right in the center of all of it. As an added bonus I'll supply some free wine at the show and maybe have a pre/post party at my house. Hope you all can make it!
